Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is one of the most common and best known massage treatments. If you don’t normally have regular massages then a swedish massage would be the perfect treatment to start with.

One of the primary goals of having a swedish massage is to relax the entire body. This is performed by using 5 styles of massage strokes working towards the heart.

The five basic strokes of swedish massage are:

  • Effleurage (sliding/gliding)
  • Petrissage (kneading)
  • Tapotement (rhythmic tapping)
  • Friction (cross fiber or with the fibers)
  • Vibration/Shaking

Swedish massage can do much more than just assist with relaxation. It can also be beneficial by helping to break down and flush out the toxins in the body ,improving circulation, increasing oxygen levels in the blood and easing muscle tension.

For the greatest benefit for you and your body we would recommend the full 60 minute swedish massage, working on the whole body which helps stimulate the lymphatic system, and assists the immune system to protect the body.

During a 60 minute treatment the following areas would be treated:

Back, legs, arms, hands, glutes, neck, shoulders, face and feet.

(30 minute treatments are also available).
